What is a shuttering magnet?

Nov 06, 2024

Shuttering magnet, also known as a magnetic formwork system, is a specialized tool used in construction to securely hold the formwork in place during concrete pouring.

The shuttering magnet is a device commonly used in construction to secure formwork or molds during concrete pouring. It consists of a powerful magnet enclosed in a sturdy steel casing with a handle for easy handling and positioning. The magnet is designed to attract and hold metal objects, such as steel plates or bars, to the concrete formwork, ensuring stability and strength during the curing process.

The workflow for using shuttering magnets typically involves the following steps:

 1. Positioning: Place the shuttering magnet on the desired location of the formwork. Ensure that the magnet is securely attached to a flat and clean surface.

 2. Activation: Activate the magnet by turning the handle or lever associated with it. This action aligns the internal magnet to generate a strong magnetic force.

 3. Fixing: Once activated, the magnet will attract and hold the metal objects firmly against the formwork. Adjust the position of the magnet if necessary to achieve the desired alignment and stability.
